WOW!!! It was HOT! 98* in the shade...110% humidity and yet a splendid time was had by all. The Good Folk At Home Music Festival 2010 was a BLAST. The little town of Longview, Illinois was the setting. My old "Britles" bandmate, Bill Thomas aka "Paul" ...aka "Sirifax" was the promoter putting on a wonderful music fest in his home town. I'm getting some videos up on my Music/Video page and on YouTube.
Thank you Bill for a beautiful afternoon of Music & Fun...Sirifax, you see, is a standup musical comic "...IN LONGVIEW"

Beatles Lecture Class a Hit!

A friend of mine, Mark Rubel (alias "The Professor") teaches a Rock Music History class at Eastern Illinois University. On the last day of the class each semester, I join him for a SPECIAL..."The Beatles place and importance in Music History" presentation: An audio visual glimpse into the FAB 4's rise to fame and how it effected not just music, but also art...advertising...clothing...hair...electronic equipment...etc.
The class ends with the recording of a Beatles' song...along with the students participation. Mark acts as Sir George" The Beatles record producer...and I play the parts of John, Paul, George & Ringo. We record each track separately. I play all the instruments and sing all the vocal parts. The students add "Hand Claps" and sing along. We usually do the whole song in about 15 - 20 minutes. (no time for 2nd takes)
The class has become so popular that alot of the other professors "sit-in" on the presentation. Even the Dean loves it and has asked us to do the presentation at other colleges.
The Beatles Lecture Class Is A Hit!

Meet The Beetles

Recently I have met an excellent tribute show out of Chicago. "Meet The Beetles" covers the Beatles from their Cavern Club days through Pepperland to Abbey Road and their swansong album Let It Be.
The music is enhanced by the addition of a 5th Beatle...Playing all the orchestrations of the later songs and percussion parts that were key to the early hits.
The best part of all is I get to be a part of this incredible Beatles Show! I fill in for members of the cast that can't make the show from time to time.
I played "Paul" for them at the Pepsi Coliseum in Indianapolis (where the Beatles played in 1964)...I performed as "Ringo" for a Holiday Season show in Gibson City, Illinois...I also played "John" with them at The Blue Chip Casino. Rent-a Beatle strikes again!!! Only "George" is left...I have the "Trifecta"...If "George" gets sick will it be the "Quadrafecta"??? No! I think it would be the "FABfecta" :)
But seriously folks, what a great bunch of guys and galls (can't forget Nicole their manager)...and true Beatle fans.
If you get a chance to see "Meet The Beetles" in concert, DON"T MISS IT!
